How Many Kinds Of Coil Are There In Ignition Coil?

- Sep 15, 2017 -

The ignition coils are divided into two kinds according to the magnetic circuit: open magnetic type and closed magnetic type. The traditional ignition coils are of open magnetic type, and their cores are stacked with silicon steel sheets of about 0.3 millimeters. The core is surrounded by secondary and primary coils. The closed magnetic type uses a shape like iron core to circle the primary coil, then the outer coil is wound around the secondary coil, and the magnetic line of force is made up of an iron core to close the magnetic circuit. Closed magnetic ignition coil has the advantages of less magnetic leakage, less energy loss and small size. Therefore, the closed ignition coil is usually adopted in the electronic ignition system.
